How it all began.
Independent Racing was born out of a simple, honest need: to ride as we are. It all started in 2007 in the basement of my parents’ house: our own supermoto decals, cut shapes made by ourselves and printed on 3M film after a long search for the right material.
Independent Racing was officially founded in 2008 – in 2009 we were completely self-sufficient: design, printing, editing – everything from a single source.
The first years - craft & passion.
A side project (IR was actually supposed to become a clothing brand) became a decor manufacturer with high standards: perfect fit, clean workmanship, durable materials.
In 2011 came the first Supermoto leather suit, followed by the KTM & Husqvarna license in 2012.
Racing DNA on every podium.
Between 2008 and 2016, countless riders stood on the podium with our designs – from Jochen Jasinski to Bernd Hiemer.
Our own teams, strong partners, genuine passion: racing was our everyday life.
Design for bike, team & everyday life.
MX, Supermoto, leisure: decals, jerseys, hoodies – all coordinated.
A look that combines style and function – and has shaped our designs to this day. The first street bike designs also found their way into our store.
Setbacks & new beginnings.
Until 2014, our focus was entirely on offroad and supermoto. But with the growing streetbike community and a guest appearance by Jens Kuck on “GRIP” the motor magazine, the demand for KTM street decors – and for our leather suits – increased.
Between 2011 and 2015, leather suit production boomed until a severe flood in our production facility in Pakistan paralyzed the manufacturer forever.
From 2016, we focused on street decors for KTM, working with large dealers and private customers.
The move to the company’s own premises in Mainz-Hechtsheim followed in 2018
After 17 years - the end of an era.
Due to various factors and a lack of motivation, we were unfortunately forced to significantly reduce our commitment.
Our website could not be further developed and was still at the 2018 level.
